My family and I have a long history in the district. My mother was a teacher and vice-principal in the district. My wife not only attended the schools but has also worked in the District Office. All of my children attended Hart and Tevis except the youngest. He's still in second grade.
I attended Castle and Actis where I met my wife, though we waited a bit to get married.
I went on to graduate from UC Berkeley and have worked in both the construction and technology/communications industries ever since.
This year, my wife and I made the difficult decision to pull our kids from the district and send them to an online-only school. Given all the uncertainty around the coming school year and our current board's combined inability to make concrete plans both for school reopening and the likely intermittent closures, we had to make a decision that would guarantee stability in the coming year for our kids and preserve our ability to work. This is absolutely a privileged position to be in and I am grateful for our ability to make this work. So many of the parents and guardians in our district simply don't have this option. I want my youngest to return to school with his friends and the fantastic teachers we've come to know over the past 10 years as soon as possible and will commit myself to making that happen.
